Personal data

PanoptiCool collects nothing. This isn't a promise, it's a consequence of how it's built.

Your export never leaves your device. It is not sent, uploaded or stored: the site is a set of static files, and the analysis runs in your browser. There is no server to send it to.
No cookies, no trackers, no analytics.
No account, no forms, no sign-up.
No connection logs. The server that serves you this page keeps neither your IP address nor your visit.

There is therefore no processing of personal data within the meaning of the GDPR. There is no right of access, rectification or erasure to exercise: there is nothing to consult, correct or delete.

The AI analysis, if you use it

Both analyses offer to have part of your export read by a language model: your comments and searches on the TikTok side, the content of one conversation you pick yourself on the Instagram side. That model runs on your own machine, in a server you start yourself. Nothing is sent to a third party, and this analysis only begins when you explicitly click.

The content of your messages

The Instagram analysis does not read your conversations in order to display them all: it counts their volumes and their rhythms. The text of a thread is read only if you open that thread, or if you send it to the local model — in both cases on your gesture, in memory, and without being kept. Closing the tab is enough for nothing to remain: there is no server, no database, no file written.

What PanoptiCool displays

The tool shows what an algorithm could infer from a data export. It is not a diagnosis, nor a verdict on a person: it is a demonstration of a system. The inferences shown can be wrong, and when they are, that is also the point.
